Snowboarding has been a major part of my life for a long time. From the early days of riding icy half pipes in the mid nineties, my path has led me to instructing, coaching, training instructors and developing educational systems, through international freeride competitions and priviledged possibilities to ride on amazing mountains in different parts of Europe, Asia and the Americas.
After starting as a snowboard instructor at the threshold of adulthood, my curiosity towards understaning learning and teaching soon expanded to a broader academic interest and I found myself studying sport pedagogy at the university. This spark has not dimmed over the years.
At present, I split my time between the endeavor to keep learning more on and about snow around Finnish Lapland and Northern parts of Scandinavia, teaching at high school, instructing on avalanche courses and freeride workshops, and conducting research in the form of PhD studies.
